Fall Style Diary #2: Chic & Versatile Jumpsuit
I fell in love with this jumpsuit for three reasons. First, it was off-shoulder, which is my fave neckline shape. It can be worn ON the shoulder for a more demure look and, at some point, as with all off-shoulder items, tends to end up back on my shoulder, but for the most part I keep it off at least one shoulder.
The second reason is the black and white glenn plaid pattern. I prefer glenn plaid over houndstooth as I feel it's softer to the eyes as a pattern. Lastly, I could see the versatility in the item. Chic-casual and chic-professional, depending on the accessories and thin enough to be worn in Spring/Summer, but easy to layer in cooler Fall /Winter weather. Being able to wear things I love for the entire year, versus being strictly a seasonal item, makes me happy. I feel I truly get my money's worth and beyond.
In these photos, I'm going for a casual/professional combo. Working from home these days means I can keep it casual in my styling, which translates into rolling up the pant hem while I putter around barefoot in my apartment during the workday. For days when I have a Zoom meeting, the view of this jumpsuit from the torso up is enough to keep it professional and sophisticated, while remaining relaxed down below. No one sees your feet on a zoom call unless your webcam falls onto the floor. And should you needed to step out to run an errand, a cute pair of sneakers really brings together a chic, casual, but very put-together look.
Jumpsuits make getting dressed super easy as a one-stop outfit that doesn't take a lot of thought, but they do come with the downside of having to get half undressed for a potty break. However, working from home makes it much less inconvenient since you're at home and have access to your own bathroom where getting 90% undressed is less of a hassle.
I purchased this jumpsuit from SHEIN a year ago. It was available when I started this post, but is now SOLD OUT. Similar item linked at the end of this post.
