Fall Style: Two-Toned / Color Block Pants #OOTD

This is a first for me; two-toned, color-blocked trousers. Even back in the day, during the 90s Cross Colors era when color-blocking was all the rage, this wasn't something I gravitated towards. It seemed a bit juvenile in a Punky Brewster sort of way (have I dated myself with these historical references?). A shirt was possibly doable, but pants? Not for me. And then I laid on these jogger cargo pants from Boohoo.

Always a fan of pinstripes, this was the 1st detail that jumped out at me. Of all the joggers I've come across in the current climate of loungewear popularity, I hadn't seen any with pinstripes. The cargo detail, which I'm also a big fan of, was the 2nd thing that caught my eye. High-waisted and tailored at the waist, they struck me as a more formal type of jogger than casual; edgy, yet classy. The juxtaposition between the bland beige side and the pinstriped leg sparked my interest. Immediately, I could envision the various business-casual or more elevated looks I could create with these pants throughout the next two seasons. They could be paired with sneakers, ankle boots, or heels. Dressed up or down. The possibilities are endless.

In the outfit highlighted in this post, I went for a more business casual look, accentuated with silver and mixed-metal accessories. The silver heels added that touch of femininity to what could pass for a masculine look. As for the practicality of these pants, they fit perfectly at the waist if you're small-waisted. No gaping or gapping, yet enough room around the hips for ease of movement and comfort. There are no belt loops, because none are necessary, but if you wanted to add one for the sake of accessorizing, make sure it's not a belt that needs loops to stay in place. Personally, I loved the clean lines from the shirt to the bottoms without any other distractions. The goal was to let the pants be the focal point. These trousers may become one of the items in my wardrobe I wear the most over the next few months. The versatility and cool, stylish vibe is top tier. That they were affordable, just $16, and well-made, was the ultimate bonus!
