Look for Less #3: The Loewe Obi Corset Belt vs SHEIN and Amazon

If you follow a lot of black, female fashion influencers, you've seen the Loewe corset belt all across your Instagram feed. It's wide. It's chic - a conversation starter- and, oh so fashion...but it's also pricey, retailing for $750 - $990 dollars. There are dupes to be had as with anything luxury, but not all dupes are created or look as equal. The ones that come close, in my opinion, can be found on Etsy and SHEIN. Shein would be the cheapest, coming in at $10 or less, while those on Etsy (of much better quality) range from $100 -$200. Mid-range options can be found on Amazon for between $60 - $100. There are variations in design, of course, but some are dead ringers. For the most part, it's about creating a similar look and vibe versus being a complete copy. And that's where this post comes in. If you like the look of the Loewe belt, but not the price, below are two ways I styled up my inexpensive dupes, in addition to highlighting other options at various price points.

When I initially stumbled across the black belt on SHEIN, I was skeptical. I loved the style of the belt on others, but wasn't sure how flattering it would look on me. So, taking a chance with the cheapest option - in case it didn't suit me - was a no-brainer. The question that lingered as I added the belt to my cart was whether the item I saw in the picture would look just as good in person. For $10, I must confess, I was impressed. I liked the fact that it was adjustable with the lace-up detail, which could be worn in the front or in the back; a detail that distinguishes it from being a total copy of the Loewe version.

Me, in the SHEIN dupe with the lace-up in the back.

White Heels: SHEIN

Sunglasses: SHEIN (N/A) - Similar found on SHEIN for $8

Two-tone split-hem jeans: NastyGal

Overall, I give the SHEIN version a thumbs up. If I find myself wearing the belt often enough to require better quality, I'll check out something that "appears" to be of better quality on Etsy, as shown below:

After feeling this style of belt as something I could definitely rock, I was inspired to try out a dupe of the denim version, but there are none to be had, right now, at least. The best I could do was something found on Amazon, which has the same feel, but on a smaller scale. When it arrived and I tried it on, it was instant LOVE. I can totally see myself wearing this one often and for quite some time. Since it's denim, having paid only $22 means I'm going to get much more than my money's worth! Check out the denim Loewe belt in contrast with the Amazon version below:

Me, in the denim Obi-belt from Amazon, below. Love it! ❤️ I'm already thinking of other items in my closet I can pair this with for a more elevated look.

White jumpsuit: Ebay (NA) - Similar from Fashion Nova, $27.99

Striped Totebag: Boohoo (NA) - Similar from SHEIN, $13

Striped Flat Espadrille Sandals: Asos (NA) - Similar from Nine West, $85

Sunglasses: SHEIN, $6

Now that I know this style works for me, I'm itching to get my hands on the belt in tan. Below is the Loewe version, along with other tan or brown dupes from SHEIN and Etsy.
