Style Diary: End-of-Summer Fashion

September has arrived, which means the beginning of the end of the Summer season is upon us. Being as I live in South Florida, it's going to be Summer for a few months more, but that doesn't mean I can't indulge my Fall fashion sense with a few transitional weather items and outfits.

First up, is this lightweight 2-pc skirt set I recently purchased from SHEIN. The fabric is perfect for the still-sweltering weather I'm experiencing, but will transition well when the temperatures become more moderate. For a section of the globe, pre-Fall days can be very Spring-like where the days are warm, but comfortably breezy, while the evenings are more brisk. The midaxi-length of the skirt on this set is perfect for keeping your legs somewhat warm when the breeze kicks up, but again, the fabric is lightweight enough to keep you cool when the sun is out. The color palette of orange, white and olive is great because while the flowers still represents Summer, the warm tones are typical and fitting for Fall.

Overall, this set is very feminine and pretty. Wonderful for an outdoor day event, church, or a girly girl brunch date. The waist is elasticated, giving you a hint of peplum - flattering on any body shape. The neckline is also elasticated, giving you the option of 3 looks; on-the-shoulders for a sweet look, off both shoulders for a romantic vibe and off-one shoulder for subtle sexiness.

In the look below, I paired this 2-pc set with a pair of flat ankle-wrap sandals to keep things Summer casual. Adding a pair of heels, however, can easily elevate this look up for a more dressed-up vibe. As the temperatures get cooler, I can totally see myself adding a cardigan, wide belt and heavier heels or boots for a cozy Fall ensemble. It was this versatility that prompted me to add this set to my cart almost instantly! What do you think?
